As for you, the honest seeker of better food choices, I need to tell you that if you are on medications or before making any lifestyle change, seek medical advice. Good for you! YOU OWN YOUR BODY so who else better to be responsible? Thanks for releasing us from all responsibility for your own actions. Now, when/if you do find improved health, stamina, libido, weight loss, healing of dis-ease and discomfort, more energy and a better feeling of oneself, tell us! Email your journey so we can add it to our compilation to be published later on this very site!

Our Home

We have ten children. Yes, you read the correct, ten! I had five children, and after 11 years of marriage found myself in a new environment with one bed, no refrigerator, five children, $40.00 to my name and six days until Christmas. Miracle after miracle happened here on Hwy 175, and one of those miracles was my husband Roger. Although Roger and I were best friends in college, we did not have any feelings other than true friendship. After moving here, he came to visit with his three small children and the rest is history! We were married and had two more children join our family. And for all those misbelieving fairytales-come-true people - we live happily ever after!

Chapter One: How to feed and blend families' diets.
Roger was a farmer, and was raised on meat, dairy and potatoes. I hadn't had a gallon of milk in the fridge for years, and limited meat to…….well almost never! I had been baking bread and eating herbs and veggies for years! Although I was raised eating a lot of meat and dairy, I had a few more years than Roger of eating well before he and I married. Roger and his children LOVED our fresh homemade bread (now available at the store). I used rice and almond milks, and they all became accustomed to the taste. Roger and his son Roger II became very happy with our diet of mostly fruits, vegetables, and some grains. Roger's two daughters came on weekends, and for the most part ate what we did. (I was never the type of mother to make two meals, so if they didn't like the food, they were welcome to fruits instead! I found it an enjoyable challenge - to make the healthiest foods and disguise them so they did not know what they were eating!) I blended 3-4 pounds of onions, mushrooms, zucchini and garlic into all my pasta sauces (that they LOVED) and they never knew…..gotta love the blender!
TIP #1 = BLEND IT!
Another thing to add to this chapter is one BIG thing we learned having child care centers….if hungry…..kids will eat it! For Pete's sake, get the garbage foods out of the home and then they will need to pick up those fruits and veggies to eat…because they are hungry! We have changed the diet of many many children simply by helping the parents understand that they are not slaves to their children, and that they are indeed the teachers. So do not hesitate when having children involved. Heck, most every child young and old LOVES eating at our home! They even enjoy the morning drinks! The high schoolers down to the pre- schoolers have all enjoyed our food because as you will learn - organic and whole foods TASTE BETTER!

TIP #2 = TRY IT! THEY MAY LIKE IT!

TIP #3 = USE WHOLE FOODS - ORGANIC IF POSSIBLE

Because we often hear "I can't afford to eat organic" we made a newsletter entitled "How to eat Cheap and Organic!" This will put to rest anyone's concern about eating cheap. Please download and use it on your friends!

Chapter Two: Prior to breakfast: We drink a TALL glass of distilled water with at least a half of lemon squeezed into it. This is an incredibly alkalizing drink for our bodies. We take one or two probiotic capsules and wait ½ an hour to eat.

TIP #4 = DRINK LEMON WATER DAILY!

Chapter Three: Breakfast
Our breakfasts are very simple. On most days they consist of a morning drink. That's it! Morning drinks of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We feed the youngest two a plate of fruits or vegetables as well, and they LOVE breakfast! All of us girls enjoy a base of 1 large leaf swiss chard, 2-3 leaves of kale, a chunk of cabbage, two stalks of celery, two bananas (we use bananas that are just turning yellow, they have less sugars and are more alkalizing to the body than overripe bananas), handful of spinach, and a few pieces of pineapple. To this we also add some or all of the following: a chunk of ginger, parsley, strawberry leaves, grape leaves, raspberry leaves, mint, coconut oil, flax seed oil, raw cacao, strawberries or blueberries, and our Green Superfood - "Got Greens!" YUM! The younger girls enjoy their morning drinks with extra strawberries, and yes, they drink a full TALL glass everyday! The men like more fruits, with some spinach and other greens complete with the "Got Greens!" THIS BREAKFAST GIVES US MORE ENERGY THAN ANYTHING! Most of us drink the entire blender full, and then enjoy an apple around 10 am. Sometimes the kids will also grab a piece of bread or raw bread on the way out the door. Check out our Green Drink Recipes on our literature page. And for your further entertainment, view the You Tube video of us making our green drink on our home page!

Now, for those special take-some-time breakfasts: Raw Oatmeal is GREAT! Just soak whole groat oats overnight in water. Rinse in the morning and add some hot water. Blend with apple pieces and cinnamon - adding vanilla or any other fruits or nuts - and enjoy! Using whole groat oats provided unmatched nutrients in the oat world. Once a whole groat is steal cut or rolled, it loses nutrients. Thus, the less processed the oat groat, the better. History line: Whole Groat Oat, Steel Cut Oat, Rolled Oat, Instant Oat. The best, most nutrient dense oat is the whole oat groat! YUM! Plus, because we do NOT cook our oats, they are still full of living enzymes! They have germinated overnight, and are ready to give life and energy! Don't kill that life out! Keep temperatures UNDER 108 degrees. NOTE: A raw food diet consists of eating 75% or more of your food in its raw state. Raw foods are considered raw if dehydrated under 108 degrees. Raw food basics: sprouts, sprouted grains- beans- nuts-seeds, vegetables and fruits.

TIP #5 = KEEP IT ALIVE! DO NOT HEAT ABOVE 108!

Once in a while we also enjoy French toast, pancakes, quiche and waffles, but these days are fewer and more far in between than days of old. We simply LOVE our green drinks so much!

Chapter Four: Lunch / School Lunches
Lunches are a great meal! Roger and I enjoy yummy salads every day and use a variety of vinegars and oils as dressings. Raw sandwiches are TERRFIC and can be found garnishing most of our lunches as well. We load our raw breads with spinach, red onions, red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, sprouts and raw hummus. (We make ours out of germinated sunflower seeds.) The kids take hummus sandwiches, hummus roll ups (they use sprouted wraps), veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds, raw crackers, almond butter with banana sandwiches, almond butter and lettuce sandwiches, and salads. GUESS WHAT! NONE of our children hide their food! They don't let anything bother them. Our high school children take any strange looks as a compliment, and seem to find themselves explaining health to anyone who asks. We seem to feed more than our own children, when their friends taste these great foods, they often want some for themselves! In elementary school, classmates are always amazed as to what foods the girls bring. Many of them have never eaten things like cabbage as a treat! Heck, our daughter Lilly even went so far as to bring a head of cabbage to a birthday party because her friend loved the cabbage Lilly always brought. When the mother saw it she asked me what it was! Luckily, we had more than the cabbage head, so the gift giving was not a complete embarrassment…..

There is a newsletter titled Office and School Lunches on our Recipe page, so print it off and use it! It has a bunch of ideas for packing those lunch boxes with good healthy foods.

We will also bring in quinoa for some lunches. My favorite quinoa salad can be made by steaming quinoa and putting it into the fridge. After grain is cool (we use all organic ingredients) add cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, lime juice, red peppers, onions, garlic, avocados, carrots, zucchini and whatever else veggies you have. YUM! This recipe can be used with rice as well. We will cook up a huge pot of quinoa, rice, beans lentils or millet and use them throughout the week.

TIP #6 = COOK IT EARLY AND KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR!

Chapter Six: Supper
Our hair is let down for the evening meals. Most meals at night are grain based, and taste great! Our family has no attachment to dead animals, and therefore does not miss eating them. If you are concerned about your protein, please read our Protein Awesome Protein brochure, and you will never look at plants and animals the same! Plus, you will become quite the in-a-minute-expert on amino acids, so you will sound pretty impressive to your friends and family. Taking meats and dairy out of the picture (for the most part) inspires us to make dishes like: rice burritos, bean and lentil enchiladas, lentil tacos, plate tacos, soups, pasta and sauces (we use rice pasta or pasta we make from zucchini in our spiralizer), raw sauces, raw veggie burgers, raw pizzas (made with the BEST dehydrated pizza crust in the world….I may be prejudice because we make it and sell it!) freshly made (easy) veggie burgers, marinated grilled veggies, mashed potatoes, LOTS of raw sauerkraut, salmon patties, stir fry, green smoothies (sometime we can't get enough!) veggie pancakes (THESE YOU GOTTA TRY), tuna salads, and a wide variety of other raw and slightly steamed meals!

Sometimes we break even our own rules. Here are the exceptions: We enjoy raw cheese on tacos and Mexican meals and we break down for Blackout Burgers once in a while! Gotta love our farm raised grass fed beef burgers on the grill at the stadium now don't we?

TIP #7 = LIMIT MEATS AND DAIRY!

TIP #8 = EAT 80% ALKALINE FOODS!

Numerous studies have proven our bodies thrive in an alkaline environment. Scientists and doctors agree that a diet of 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods creates a perfect pH of 7.4 in most people. This perfect pH contributes to a dis-ease free body. Please read Fueling for Life! on our literature page to learn more.

Chapter Seven: Snack Time!
Great and healthy snacks are important as well as desired! We know eating nuts and fruits in a trail mix can bring up a child's blood sugar to a healthy level so as to avoid outbreaks or emotional upsets. Dehydrated fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, popcorn, raw crackers, raw dips and veggies and a vast array of other healthy foods we enjoy as snacks. Our favorite however, is our raw bars! These babies are jam packed with soaked and sprouted nuts, seeds, some grains and fruits. No sugar added or needed in these yummy treats. We add fresh raw cacao powder and coconut to complete a perfect snack bar. Try making your own! Use chia seeds, soaked nuts seeds and whatever fruits to make a thick paste and then dehydrate. There are many recipes online, so check them out! Raw bars = heaven! (sorry, because we sell these across the country we will not give out these recipes….) We also LOVE almond milk smoothies. These perfect smoothies will put an end to the dairy smoothies you may enjoy. Try this on for size: 1-2 tablespoons raw almond butter, 1 ½ cup water, 1-2 frozen bananas, 1 tb agave (or honey) and add vanilla or strawberries if you want! Heck, add raw cacao powder for a PERFECT chocolate milk shake!

Following are a few kitchen helps we use daily.
TIP #9 = TO REPLACE MILK IN RECIPES MAKE QUICK ALMOND MILK BY USING 1 TB ALMOND BUTTER TO ONE CUP WATER- BLEND.
TIP #10 = WE USE STAINLESS STEEL ONLY. COOK ITEMS ON LOW AND THEY NEVER STICK!
USE DISTILLED WATER IN EVERYTHING. DRINK IT, EAT IT, AND USE IT IN RECIPES. LEARN MORE ON OUR SHORT WRITE UP FOUND ON OUR SHOP SHOP SHOP PAGE.
TIP #11 = ONLY USE REAL SEA SALT. WE USE REALSALT SEA SALT. IT IS UNREFINED AND TASTES INCREDIBLE.
TIP #12 = USE EXTRA VIRGIN OILS WHICH IS THE FIRST PRESSING OF THE FRUIT OR OLIVE.
TIP #13 = AVOID ALL FORMS OF ARTIFICAL SUGARS FOREVER! PLEASE READ ALL ABOUT THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF SUGARS AT WIDE WORLD OF SUGARS ON OUR LITERATURE PAGE.
TIP #14 = LIMIT ALL MEATS AND DAIRY
TIP #15 = NEVER EAT NITRATES. CONSIDER NEVER EATING PORK, (WE DON'T EVEN ALLOW IT AS A CASING ON ANYTHING IN THE STORE. NO BACON HERE WE ARE AFRAID…..WE LOVE OUR HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM AND WE ENJOY NOT HAVING PARASITES FOR DINNER….OR LUNCH…OR BREAKFAST.)
TIP #16 = MAKE A TRAIL MIX WITH RAW NUTS, SEEDS AND FRUITS. USE SPROUTED NUTS AND SEEDS IF POSSIBLE AND BAG UP IN SNACK SIZE BAGS FOR THE WEEK! YUM!

That's it! A simple healthy lifestyle is within your reach. Some changes took time while others were immediate. We were so anxious for the amazing health benefits that we didn't put too many changes on the back burner. Results: GREAT HEALTH!

Case in Point #1: We took our daughter Rose (8) in for a visit to a naturopath. He had us write the foods she had eaten for four days and proceeded with the exam. When it came to the time to do the toxic level scan, he found she was at a 0. He tested the equipment many times, as he could not believe it! He said most Americans are above a 10 (0 being no toxicity and 10 being the worst) and children are always above 8. He pulled her chart and started reading everything she ate: kale, chard, cucumbers, cabbage, sprouted tortillas, hummus, etc. Our 20 year old daughter was with us and he tested her and found her at a 3! Needless to say, if you don't ingest toxins, your levels of toxicity are far lower!

Case in Point #2: I thought with all the talk of colon therapy I would give it a try. With all the pictures and anticipation on what would come out, I was slightly disappointed as we watched the EMPTY tube for 50 minutes! The wonderful lady giving me the colon hydrotherapy treatment was working that colon the best she could, only to tell me that out of the 7000 treatments she had given, I was the second ever to have nothing! Well, it was worth the $75.00 to learn that what we do WORKS!

Case in Point #3: WE HAVE HEALTHY CHILDREN! No doctor bills unless we break a leg or arm, no vaccines, no illness, no swine flu, no PMS at ALL - ever, low dental bills, hardly any acne, no headaches, high energy, no VOMITTING (gosh I would hate that), NO ADD OR ADHD, and very happy parents! (in lieu of sick days, we keep them home for party days! One time we were on the way to school and I blurted out..."let's go to the mall!" and we did! Needless to say, we had a ball!)

We as a family wish you the best of luck. We believe anyone who adapts this healthy lifestyle will enjoy more out of life than they ever could expect, we sure have! GOOD LUCK!
